First off for everyone new to my page, Welcome! My Name is Adam and I own and operate A Man's Touch Auto Detailing. I have been detailing cars for the last 10 years and am striving to go above and beyond on every vehicle I own.

This is my first blog post so please, bear with me on it as I figure this thing out.

So what is auto detailing and how did I get into it?

Well, growing up my family would keep things till it would literally fall apart, and then they would still refuse to replace it. My dad still drives a Mazda CRV van from 1991 to this day! We also never had any new vehicles growing up so dents, dings, scratches and odd sounds were just part of the family car and keeping it on the road was the highest priority. My dad did everything for our cars, from oil changes to suspension work. This instilled the importance of taking care of what you had. Once I had my first car (96' Ford Mustang) I quickly became immersed in car care and wanting to learn how to keep it looking its best, even though the transmission slipped, the roof paint was peeling and it squealed when you turned the wheel.

Fast forward to when I was dating my now wife in grad school. We both worked +10 hours a day, 7 days a week as athletic trainers. She lived in Miami and I lived in Auburn. Any time I went to Miami to see her I would make it a priority to take care of her Jeep Wrangler that often sat under trees or baked in the south Florida sun. This is when my obsession for detailing really took off. Eventually we moved to northwest Florida and started our life together. We didn't make much money as athletic trainers and heavily relied on our vehicles to get to and from events, so I would do everything possible to keep them looking like new or better with what little money we had. I started working on any car I could get my hands on (friends and family), constantly improving my work and learning about up and coming products in the detailing world.

As our careers and family grew, I began to educate friends and get them excited about detailing. I would make it a habit to detail my friends car with them, teaching them how to properly maintain it. Eventually my good friend who I got into detailing, decided to take the jump and started detailing cars himself. I faded away from focusing on cars and instead on growing my family. As my friend grew his business, he would push me to detail with him, check out new products (i.e. ceramics) and even start my own business.

Eventually I jumped back into detailing as that friend moved on to a new chapter of his life and left the area. I was hesitant at first. I didn't think I could ever make money doing something I used to enjoy so much and didn't want to ruin something good. I thought about it for a year until that old friend called me up seeing if I could help out one of his old customers. I waffled back and forth and eventually said sure. After detailing for his old customer, the guy loved it so much he asked If I would ceramic coat his brand new car when it gets delivered in a few months. The thrill I got from making someone else car look like new was unbelievable. Right then is when I knew I wanted to make this a more official business and market my services to people. I quickly made my business official and started researching (almost obsessively) products, tools, techniques to create efficient processes and get my customers the best results possible while still keeping my prices affordable. As part of my journey creating a business I've decided to create a YouTube channel and Instagram to help pass information on and demonstrate techniques that make me a successful detailer.

I've been open now almost 1 year officially and have detailed hundreds upon hundreds cars for people near and far. I am so excited for how this business will grow and look forward to serving Navarre, FL and surrounding communities for years to come.

So now that you know how I got my start, stay tuned as we're going to hopefully be able to do future posts that share tips, stories and interesting facts about me and some of the products and companies that I am privileged to work with within the detailing community. Thanks for checking this out and we will see you SOON!
